SBKWU to be brought at par best universities of country: Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University proves investment in education is key to progress & development: Governor
QUETTA: The Governor Balochistan, Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has applauded the role of Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University (SBKWU) in promotion of women education in the province and said that Women’s University has proven that investment in education is the key to progress and development.
The Governor said that it is our priority to bring the SBKWU at par the best universities of the country. He said that we are implementing the strong measures for increasing the strength of students in the Women University to 12,000, which otherwise has decreased to 6,300.
He said that our vision is to establish a comprehensive, research based and safe institution so that the students from other provinces may come in the University for studies.
He exhorted the Vice Chancellor of SBKWU and her team to stay above every kind of politics and personal agendas.
The Governor Mandokhail was addressing the gathering of 11th Convocation of SBKWU here in auditorium of the University on Thursday.
The Provincial Minister for Education, Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, Vice Chancellor of SBKWU, Dr. Rubina Mushtaq, Vice Chancellor of BUITEMS, Dr. Khalid Hafeez, Vice Chancellor of Balochistan University, Dr. Zahoor Bazai, other dignitaries from different walks of life besides the students and their parents.
The Governor distributed degrees, gold medals and pins among the graduates of university of different programmes of 2014-2022 sessions.
In all 392 graduates including five Ph.D scholars as well as over 50 M.Phil and Master degree graduates were conferred degrees.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor said that he is honored to be a part of the 11th convocation ceremony of the prestigious Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University in Quetta.
As we gather today here to celebrate this momentous occasion, I extend my warmest congratulations to each and every one of our graduates. Your achievement is a testament to your hard work, dedication & perseverance. It is a source of pride not only for you and your family members but also for this esteemed institution and the entire nation.
He said that “as you embark on the next phase of your journey, you will soon find yourselves immersed in the practical aspects of life. I encourage you to hold on to the values and principles that have guided you in ups and downs of life. Remember that the true essence of education lies not only in the acquisition of knowledge but also in the development of character and wisdom.”
Addressing to the Deans & Teaching staff, the Governor said that “I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to our all faculty members whose tireless efforts and unwavering commitment have been instrumental in shaping the minds and characters of our graduates. Your dedication to the pursuit of excellence is truly inspiring and I appreciate you for your selfless service to this institution.”
To the graduates, he said that you are the proud symbols of an institution that has consistently invested in the empowerment of women in Balochistan. Women’s University has proven that investment in education is the key to progress and development. As you go forth, remember that you have the power to shape the future of this nation. You have the potential to become visionary leaders, innovators and problem-solvers.”
He urged the students to utilize the power of your knowledge and skills to make a positive impacts on society.
In conclusion, the Governor said that he would like to leave with a quotable quotation from the great poet, Moulana Jalaluddin Rumi who said, “Hope is eternal and faith infinite.” As you embark on this new chapter in your lives.
He expressed best wishes for the graduates saying “may you remain all steadfast in your pursuit of excellence!”
