All Pashtun Community Holds Protest Rally Against New Canals on Indus River

Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) A protest rally was organized by the All-Pashtun Community against the proposed new canal projects from the Sindh River. The rally saw a large number of participants, who carried banners and placards with slogans such as “No to Water Loot,” “Stop Injustice with Sindh,” and “Protect Sindh’s Rights.”

The rally began at the Station Road and proceeded to the Tando Adam Press Club, where community leaders spoke to the press. Leaders including Advocate Najeebullah Jadoon, Nisar Ahmed Khan, Ramzan Pathan, Azad Khan Khilji, Nadir Khan Durrani, Abdul Wadood Khan, Yusuf Khan, Mohammad Ghaus, Ali Ghaus, and Haroon Khan condemned the plan, stating that the proposal to extract new canals from the Sindh River is a direct attack on Sindh’s share of water, which will not be accepted under any circumstances.

The leaders emphasized that Sindh is already facing severe water scarcity, agriculture is being devastated, and people are losing their jobs. They added that in such a situation, the proposal for new canals is an extreme injustice to Sindh.

The leaders affirmed their unwavering support for Sindh and declared that they would not accept any betrayal of the province’s rights. They called on the federal government to immediately halt the project and ensure the protection of Sindh’s rights. They warned that if their demands are not met, they will expand their protest and initiate a nationwide movement.
