Sindh Government spokesperson Diwan Sukhdev Asardas Hemanani has said that Pakistan’s economic development is not being digested by India, which is why India is resorting to aggression using various tactics
MIRPUR MATHELO (By Tanveer Ahmed Soomro) Sindh Government spokesperson Diwan Sukhdev Asardas Hemanani has said that Pakistan’s economic development is not being digested by India, which is why India is resorting to aggression using various tactics. We condemn all kinds of terrorism, but the Modi government is making moves and placing the blame on Pakistan. Modi’s true face is not hidden from anyone. He has no authority to terminate the Indus Waters Treaty, if India commits any kind of aggression, it will be given a befitting reply.
He expressed these views while addressing an important press conference at his residence Ghotki. Speaking on the occasion, he said that our peace-loving attitude should not be considered as our weakness. India canceled visas, despite this, Pakistan did not cancel the visas of Sikh pilgrims on the basis of humanitarian sympathy. India will not be allowed to rob our rights by terminating the Indus Waters Treaty. All political parties of Pakistan are on the same page on this issue.
The Sindh government spokesperson, while talking about the canals issue, said that the canals project has been buried as a result of the strategy and democratic methods of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. This will become clear in the CCI meeting on May 2. If the PML-N backs down from the agreement, their government will be out of hand. He said that the Pakistan Peoples Party had strongly objected to the 6 canals project, as a result of which it was agreed with the PML-N that the canals project would be scrapped in the CCI meeting. If the PML-N does not implement the agreement, the federal government may fall because the PPP Chairman has clearly announced that on the canals issue, we will not stand with the federal government but with the people of Sindh.
He said that the concerns of the people of Sindh are justified to some extent because federal governments have repeatedly betrayed Sindh in the past. A dictator implemented one unit and sold three rivers and later the Chashma Jhelum Link Canal and Taunsa Panjnad Canal were taken out and it was said that water would be taken only during floods, but later the continuous water withdrawal was started by damaging the Indus River. Similarly, the Tehreek-e-Insaf government also approved the Jalalpur and Thal canals while betraying Sindh. While the Pakistan Peoples Party has always protected the rights of Sindh. Projects like Kalabagh Dam were buried forever, in whose coffin the last nail was also driven by the PPP.
He said that there are also objections to the 1991 water agreement because Sindh is getting less water compared to the past, but we accepted this agreement for the sake of the federation. We are not supporters of the federal government but of the federation. Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are our provinces, that is why it is said that the chain of the four provinces is Benazir,
In response to a question, he said that he did not oppose protests and sit-ins, it is the democratic right of every party and individual. The Sindh government has a clear directive that force should not be used anywhere because Sindh is ruled by a democratic party. However, the local people and the economy are being affected due to continuous sit-ins. We condemn the Malir incident, the Interior Minister has taken notice, and the truth will come out after the investigation.
