QUETTA: The Provincial Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives, Mir Ali Hassan Zehri has emphasized that all ongoing development projects under the Department of Agriculture and Cooperatives must be completed within the stipulated timeframes so that their benefits can reach the farmers of the province
He stated that the agriculture sector is the backbone of the province’s development and prosperity.
He noted that majority of the province’s population depends on agriculture for their livelihood, and that modernizing the agriculture department is one of the government’s top priorities.
He expressed these views while chairing a review meeting held to assess the progress on development projects underway in the 2024–25 fiscal year, as well as to discuss proposed new projects for the 2025–26 fiscal year.
Also present at the meeting were Secretary of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Noor Ahmed Pirkani, along with Director Generals and other senior officials from the department.
During the meeting, Secretary Noor Ahmed Pirkani briefed the Provincial Minister on the overall performance of the department and the decisions taken in the previous meeting.
