Renowned Scholar, Writer, and Social Figure Syed Ubaidullah Shah (Shah Ubaid) Remembered on His First Death Anniversary.

Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) A solemn and respectful ceremony was held in Tando Adam to mark the first death anniversary of the eminent educationalist, literary figure, social worker, and cultural icon, the late Syed Ubaidullah Shah, popularly known as Shah Ubaid. The event was attended by a large number of prominent personalities from literary, academic, media, and social circles who paid glowing tributes to the late scholar.

The commemoration began with a gathering at the Ismail Shah Graveyard, where family members, friends, followers, and admirers visited Shah Ubaid’s grave to lay floral wreaths and offer collective prayers (Fatiha) for the departed soul. His brothers Syed Waliullah Shah, Syed Hameedullah Shah, and Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah recalled his lifelong commitment to education, literature, and humanity.

Noted journalist Wafa Raza Baloch, Khalid Hussain Khaskheli, Ashiq Hussain Saand, Riaz Hussain Sanjrani, Ali Raza Saand, Ustad Nadir Ali Shaikh, Haroon Lakho, and leading members of Sindhi Adabi Sangat Tando Adam including Mansoor Bajoro, Sagar Dheraj, Janan Sindhi, Abdul Karim Junejo, Nanak Ram Sejawani, and Anwar Ali Panhwar were among those who attended.

Later, a special memorial session was organized at the Waryah House by the Shah Ubaid Memorial Accedemy, where speakers shed light on the multifaceted contributions of Shah Ubaid in the fields of education, literature, culture, and public service. They said Shah Ubaid was not just an educator but also a thought-provoking writer, fearless orator, humble social worker, and a true friend of the people. Through his writings, speeches, and educational services, he inspired moral values, cultural awareness, and a sense of national identity among the youth.

Speakers emphasized that in today’s era of intellectual decline, commemorating personalities like Shah Ubaid serves to reconnect the younger generation with their heritage, language, and knowledge. A demand was also made to name a public institution or library after him in recognition of his remarkable services.

The event concluded with a collective prayer for the departed soul and a renewed commitment from the participants to carry forward the noble mission and vision of Shah Ubaid.
