Balochistan Fully Digitalizes Financial System — Legacy Treasury Structure Abolished, Rs 200 Million Annual Savings Expected

The Government of Balochistan has fully digitalized its financial management system, replacing the outdated manual procedures with a modern, transparent, and efficient digital mechanism.
An important meeting of the Finance Department was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, where Secretary Finance, Imran Zarkoon, gave a detailed briefing on the ongoing reforms and digital transformation initiatives.
During the meeting, it was informed that the Directorate of Treasury has been dissolved, and more than 250 employees have been transferred to the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD). Following the reduction of additional staff at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, the government has now extended administrative reforms to the Finance Department.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that the restructuring of treasury operations will save over Rs 200 million annually.
> “Every rupee of public tax revenue is a sacred trust,” the Chief Minister emphasized. “The complete digitalization of the treasury system will ensure transparency, accountability, and effective governance.”
He further stated that online financial transactions represent a revolutionary step towards eliminating corruption and bureaucratic delays, paving the way for a more efficient public financial system.
The Chief Minister added that Balochistan’s financial management framework is being modernized on contemporary lines to ensure the optimal utilization of provincial resources.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti appreciated the performance of Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, while the Chief Secretary Balochistan expressed satisfaction over the efforts of Secretary Finance Imran Zarkoon in implementing the reforms.
