PCT&VI Gwadar, Wuhan Central Group Ink MoU to Boost Vocational Training under BRI

WUHAN, Oct 8 (Special Report): The Pak-China Technical and Vocational Institute (PCT&VI) at the University of Gwadar (UG) and China’s Wuhan Central Foreign Economic and Technical Cooperation Group Co., Ltd. (WCFETCG) have signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in technical and vocational education under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

According to Gwadar Pro, quoting an official statement from the University of Gwadar, the MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Manzoor Ahmed, Executive Director of PCT&VI, and the Chairman of Wuhan Central Group.

The agreement aims to establish a long-term strategic partnership to promote skill development, enhance international academic cooperation, and strengthen workforce capabilities in the Gwadar region.

> “This MoU marks the beginning of a new era for the youth of Gwadar and surrounding areas,” said Prof. Dr. Manzoor Ahmed. “Partnering with a renowned Chinese organization will not only foster educational and technical advancement but also open new opportunities for our students to receive international-standard training and employment. Through this collaboration, we aim to produce a generation equipped with modern industrial skills, capable of contributing effectively to national and regional development.”

 

Under the agreement, both parties will jointly organize educational programs, technical workshops, and professional training sessions, and establish “Chinese + Vocational Skills” training centers that will combine Chinese language instruction with modern technical education.

The MoU also includes cooperation in curriculum development, faculty training, student and teacher exchange programs, as well as the organization of international seminars, conferences, and skills competitions.

Welcoming the partnership, the Chairman of Wuhan Central Group stated,

> “We are delighted to collaborate with the Pak-China Technical and Vocational Institute in promoting vocational education in Gwadar—a region of great strategic importance. This partnership reflects our shared commitment to advancing global educational cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative and developing a highly skilled workforce aligned with modern industrial needs.”

 

During his visit to China, Dr. Manzoor Ahmed also attended a seminar on “Digitalization of Technical Institutes in Developing Countries”, organized by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China.
