ISLAMABAD, October 15:
The Pakistan Army has successfully repelled coordinated attacks launched by Afghan Taliban and the militant faction known as “Fitna-e-Khawarij” along the Spin Boldak region of Chaman and the Kurram Sector, security sources confirmed.
According to security officials, the attackers attempted assaults at three different locations early in the morning. The Pakistan Army responded with effective and powerful retaliatory fire, forcing the militants to retreat after suffering heavy casualties.
Reports indicate that the militants used villages and innocent civilians as human shields, a tactic increasingly adopted by these groups. The initial assessment suggests that 15 to 20 Taliban fighters were killed during the exchange of fire.
Sources further revealed that the terrorists blew up the Pak-Afghan Friendship Gate from their side, which reflects their disregard for trade and cross-border movement between the two nations.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Army had also thwarted another attempted attack last night in the Kurram Sector, destroying eight enemy posts and six tanks along with their crews.
During the operation, security forces recovered American-made weapons and neutralized several militants. The area now remains calm following the decisive response, though intelligence reports indicate fresh gatherings of Taliban and Kharijite elements around Spin Boldak.
Security forces remain on high alert to counter any future hostilities from across the border.
