The Excise Department of Balochistan has intensified its campaign against the illegal cultivation of poppy across various districts, destroying several fields and completing multiple enforcement operations.
Under the special directives of Secretary Excise Syed Zafar Ali Shah Bukhari, Director-General Excise (North), and Director Excise Naseerullah Mandokhail, the department has accelerated its zero-tolerance operations to curb narcotics production and trade in the province.
According to departmental sources, the campaign is being conducted in close coordination with local administrations and law-enforcement agencies. Individuals involved in the illegal cultivation of narcotic plants are facing strict legal consequences.
The Excise Department has reiterated that its drive will continue uninterrupted until the complete eradication of narcotics from Balochistan. Plans for alternative livelihood opportunities for affected farmers are under consideration as part of the province’s broader goal to build a drug-free and sustainable economy.
Citizens have been urged to immediately report any illegal poppy cultivation to the nearest Excise officials to support the ongoing anti-narcotics efforts.
