Multiple cases have been registered in Rohri, B-Section, and C-Section police stations against Sultan Shah and his son Habdar Shah, who were killed in an alleged police encounter three days ago. The FIRs include charges of police encounter, attempted murder, and terrorism, according to official police records.
The first FIR, lodged by Inspector Jahangir Mahar at Rohri Police Station, states that the wanted criminal Sultan Shah and his son were traveling toward the fish market with suspected criminal intent. Acting on a tip-off, Sukkur police began chasing them. Upon seeing the police, the accused opened fire, injuring a child, Faizan Shaikh, before fleeing toward Dua Chowk. District-wide alerts were immediately issued via the control room.
The second FIR, filed at B-Section Police Station by ASI Abdullah Mahar, details that a police barricade was set up at Dua Chowk. When signaled to stop, the suspects allegedly opened fire, injuring Head Constable Fazalullah Bhutto and a passing woman, Tahira, wife of Shaban Shaikh. The complainant identified the shooters as Sultan Shah, his son, and two unknown armed accomplices sitting in the back of their vehicle.
The third FIR, lodged by Inspector Abdul Hameed Mahar at C-Section Police Station, states that the suspects abandoned their car near Sukkur Civil Hospital, snatched a motorcycle, and fled toward Old Sukkur. Police tracked them to Pir Nanga Shah, where a shootout took place. Sultan Shah and his son were killed in the encounter, while two accomplices escaped through narrow streets. Investigators recovered 19 Kalashnikov shells and 12 pistol shells from the crime scene.
The police have confirmed that investigations into the incident and the unidentified suspects are ongoing.
