Quetta: Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch, Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan, presented a detailed account of the province’s socio-economic and political challenges at a massive gathering in Minar-e-Pakistan. Addressing thousands of supporters, he criticized the denial of citizens’ rights, including disappearances, restricted access to resources, and marginalization from development projects such as the CPEC Sindh-Rikodak initiative.

Maulana Baloch urged that Balochistan’s governance should prioritize education, employment, and economic development, emphasizing that the state’s focus on checkposts and military dominance has stifled civil society and obstructed democratic participation. He warned that continued neglect of public grievances could destabilize the province further.
