Government of Punjab
Lahore, December 1:
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said on World AIDS Day that people suffering from AIDS deserve compassion, not discrimination. She stressed that AIDS is a serious social and economic challenge and called for equal access to prevention, testing, and treatment.
She said Punjab is taking concrete steps to eliminate AIDS and is ensuring strict implementation of screening SOPs for dialysis patients. She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to helping affected individuals become active, contributing members of society. Early diagnosis and available treatment, she added, can significantly improve lives.
