Lahore: Governor Punjab, Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, emphasized the need to further strengthen Pakistan’s army, commending Field Marshal Asim Munir for elevating the country’s global reputation. He expressed these views while meeting a delegation of overseas Pakistanis from the United States at Governor House Lahore.
During the meeting, Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan and the delegation paid tribute to the leadership of Field Marshal Asim Munir, acknowledging his significant contributions to Pakistan’s defense and international standing. The Governor stated that the Pakistani passport now commands global respect, a testament to the Field Marshal’s leadership and the government’s policies.
He condemned those spreading hatred against the armed forces, particularly among overseas Pakistanis, labeling them enemies of the nation. “No matter how popular a political leader may be, a country cannot progress without a strong army,” he added, stressing the critical role of the military in national stability and development.
The Governor also highlighted the patriotism of overseas Pakistanis, who actively counter anti-Pakistan narratives abroad. On the occasion of the 54th martyrdom anniversary of Major Shabbir Sharif, he paid tribute to Major Shabbir and all martyrs of the Pakistan Army, recognizing their sacrifices in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and security.
