Islamabad, 7 December 2025:
Acting Chairman of the Senate, Syed Al Khan, has decided to take stern action against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for what he termed “shameful and unacceptable” behavior against the state and its institutions. He stated that his previous ruling in the house was fully in accordance with the Constitution and law, allowing no compromise or leniency.
Syed Al Khan said he would formally send a letter to the PTI parliamentary leader regarding the matter, with copies to all parliamentary leaders. He emphasized that attacks on institutions, creating disputes, or spreading unrest will not be tolerated, and strict compliance with his ruling will be ensured. Any violation may result in immediate suspension of the concerned senator’s membership, and repeated offenses could lead to long-term suspension. The Acting Chairman reiterated that respecting Parliament and state institutions is a fundamental responsibility of every member.
