A national workshop in Islamabad approved the operational framework and governance model of the National Counter Narcotics Coordination Center (NCNC2). The event was jointly organized by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control, UNODC, and the U.S. State Department’s INL bureau, with participation from federal and provincial law-enforcement agencies under the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).

DG ANF Major General Abdul Maeed HI(M) opened the session, followed by remarks from INL’s Austin Weston Hofer and UNODC Pakistan Country Head Troels Wester, who underscored intelligence sharing, institutional coordination, and sustainable international cooperation.

ANF Director Enforcement Brigadier Syed Imran Ali briefed participants on the NCNC2 operational structure, including the fusion-center governance model, SOPs, phased implementation, and institutional responsibilities. Practical recommendations from participants were adopted with majority consensus.

Institutions reaffirmed their commitment to timely implementation and coordinated follow-up. Concluding the workshop, DG ANF expressed hope that NCNC2 would evolve into an effective data-driven counter-narcotics mechanism supporting Pakistan’s mission of becoming drug-free.
