Kachhi: Allegations of negligence have surfaced in the ongoing national polio campaign in Kachhi District. Reports indicate that vaccination teams in Union Council Muharram limited their activities to paperwork, failing to reach children in the field.
Local political and social leaders expressed concern over fake reporting, warning that such inaction jeopardizes children’s health despite billions being spent nationwide to eradicate polio. Previous complaints highlighted shortcomings, but officials allegedly responded with threats and false police complaints instead of corrective measures.
The recent five-day campaign beginning December 15 also faced similar issues. Leaders called on the Chief Minister of Balochistan, Secretary of Health, and Commissioner Nasirabad Division to conduct a transparent inquiry and take strict disciplinary action against officials responsible for negligence. They emphasized that accountability is critical to safeguarding children’s health and ensuring the success of national vaccination initiatives.
