A joint ceremony marking the birth anniversaries of the Founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Pakistan Muslim League (N) President Nawaz Sharif, and Christmas was held in Peshawar under the chairmanship of Federal Minister and President of PML-N Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Engineer Ameer Muqam.
Addressing the ceremony, Engineer Ameer Muqam paid rich tribute to the leadership of Nawaz Sharif and cut cakes to commemorate the occasion. He said that Quaid-e-Azam’s vision, principled leadership, and tireless struggle laid the foundation of Pakistan and continue to guide the nation on the path of progress. He added that Quaid-e-Azam led the Muslims of the subcontinent to independence through constitutional struggle, rule of law, democracy, protection of minority rights, and social justice, values that remain relevant today.
The federal minister extended heartfelt birthday greetings to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, stating that under his leadership, PML-N consistently worked for national development, constitutional supremacy, and the promotion of democratic values. He said Nawaz Sharif’s contributions, particularly in economic revival, infrastructure development, and public welfare projects, would be written in golden words in Pakistan’s history. He added that strengthening Pakistan’s defense was one of Nawaz Sharif’s major achievements and that he symbolized public service and development.
Engineer Ameer Muqam said that conspiracies against Nawaz Sharif had failed and that the nation had given its verdict, adding that Pakistan no longer needed experiments but experienced leadership like that of Nawaz Sharif. He prayed for Nawaz Sharif’s good health, safety, and long life so that he could continue guiding the nation.
The federal minister paid tribute to the Pakistan Army for its unparalleled sacrifices in defending the country, stating that the nation would never forget them. He praised the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, saying that under his courageous and professional command, India was given an effective response. He added that the entire nation stood united with its armed forces.
He also lauded Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership, saying that the current government had steered the economy in the right direction within a short time, reduced inflation, and ushered in a new era of development and prosperity. He said the positive results of the prime minister’s tireless efforts were clearly visible.
Criticizing the performance of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Engineer Ameer Muqam said that the province’s people had suffered from incompetence, mismanagement, and poor governance for the past 12 years. He added that basic facilities were lacking and public problems were continuously increasing.
He further said that PTI was currently under the influence of an authoritarian mindset and had consistently avoided dialogue on important national issues. He stated that PTI had repeatedly boycotted or withdrawn from national security dialogues and all-parties conferences, including on sensitive matters such as Kashmir and regional security, prioritizing political interests over national unity.
He said the nation had now clearly understood which political party believed in dialogue and which repeatedly avoided national forums.
A Christmas cake was also cut at the ceremony, and Engineer Ameer Muqam extended heartfelt Christmas greetings to the Christian community across the country.
The event was attended by PML-N district and city office-bearers, workers, and representatives of affiliated organizations. The ceremony was held at the hujra of PML-N District Peshawar President Rashid Mahmood Khan Babozai. Among those present were District President Rashid Mahmood, Provincial Joint Secretary Haji Hayat Khan, Senior Vice President Haji Afzal, MPA and Provincial President Minority Wing Suresh Kumar, General Secretary PML-N Peshawar Amanullah, Provincial President Women’s Wing KP and MPA Sobia Shahid, MPAs Jamila Paracha, Afshan Hussain, Malik Tariq Awan, and former candidate Arbab Afzal.
