Nasirabad:
Chairman of Citizens Action Committee Nasirabad, Mir Imdad Hussain Marri, has warned of widespread protests if the worsening water crisis in Dera Murad Jamali is not resolved immediately. He blamed the Public Health Engineering Department for negligence and poor management.
Marri said residents in several areas are suffering due to the complete suspension of water supply for days and, in some cases, weeks, despite the presence of two water supply schemes in eastern Dera Murad Jamali. He questioned why citizens are being denied water when infrastructure already exists.
Due to the shortage, families are forced to purchase water from tanker operators at high prices, putting severe financial pressure on low-income households. He added that the lack of clean water is leading to health issues, especially among children and the elderly.
He urged the provincial government and senior officials to take immediate notice, restore supply, and take strict action against responsible officers.
