Dadu, December 29, 2025: Former National and Provincial Assembly candidate Shahid Ali Bat has protested what he calls a politically motivated campaign against him, demanding his removal from the Fourth Schedule. Shahid Ali claims he has been continuously included in the Fourth Schedule for the past 12 years, despite the legal limit being only three years.
He contested the 2013 elections from NA-232 and PS-74 under Dr. Arbab Ghulam Rahim’s party ticket. Since then, Shahid Ali alleges he has faced fabricated charges, wrongful arrests, and politically driven harassment. He claims that these actions have disrupted his personal and professional life, restricting his freedom and rights as a citizen.
In his press statement, Shahid Ali urged the federal and provincial governments to immediately remove his name from the Fourth Schedule, enabling him to live as a normal citizen and participate freely in public life. He emphasized that respecting legal limits is essential to uphold justice and protect citizens’ rights against political misuse.
