The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has successfully thwarted a major terrorist plot in Karachi through a timely operation, rescuing a minor girl during snap checking. Officials said the girl was being transported from Balochistan and was allegedly prepared for a suicide attack by a banned militant organization.
During interrogation, the rescued girl revealed that she had been psychologically manipulated and trained by the proscribed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). She stated that she was instructed to reach Karachi and contact handlers, but her arrest prevented the meeting, leaving her unaware of the intended target.
The girl further disclosed that militants exploited her vulnerable family background, knowing her father was absent, and gained her trust by pretending sympathy. Authorities praised the swift action of CTD, stating that it not only prevented a potential tragedy but also saved an innocent life from being used in terrorism.
