Quetta, January 16, 2026: Secretary of Agriculture Balochistan, Noor Ahmed Parkani, visited the Directorate General of Agriculture Research, where DG Agriculture Research, Jumma Khan Tarin, provided a detailed briefing on the department’s performance, ongoing research projects, and various divisions, along with a field inspection.
The visit was attended by senior officials including Syed Qasim Agha, DG On-Farm Water Management; Abdul Razzaq Reki, Principal Agricultural College; Abdul Qadeer, Registrar Cooperative Society; and DG CRS, along with other directors and senior staff.
Secretary Parkani inspected the 13-year-old under-construction Central Laboratory Complex, expressing serious concern over prolonged delays and stating that the Planning & Development Department would be approached to expedite its completion. She also reviewed the tissue culture laboratory, central library, greenhouse, nursery, and available machinery, receiving a detailed briefing on the benefits of tissue culture.
During the visit, directors highlighted challenges faced by their departments. Parkani assured that all staff concerns are understood and would be addressed promptly. She emphasized the importance of research, innovation, and dedication to advance Balochistan’s agricultural sector and modernize it for sustainable growth.
