Islamabad, Jan 19 — The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has intensified its crackdown against drug trafficking, conducting nine operations across multiple cities and arresting nine suspects, including three women. The operations led to the seizure of 91.46 kilograms of narcotics worth over Rs86 million.
According to an ANF spokesperson, international drug interdiction efforts at a Rawalpindi courier office resulted in the recovery of 873 grams of opium concealed in a waistcoat from a parcel destined for Canada, while 76 grams of cannabis oil vapes were seized from a parcel originating from the United Kingdom.
Domestic operations led to the recovery of 188 ecstasy tablets from a courier parcel, 4.8kg of hashish from Sohrab Goth in Karachi, and 500 psychotropic tablets near Model Town, Islamabad.
In inter-provincial actions, ANF seized ice and hashish near Islamabad Motorway and Sangjani Toll Plaza, while additional recoveries were made in Jhelum and Karachi. Cases have been registered under the CNSA-1997 and investigations are underway.
