Balochistan Police Strengthen Counterterrorism Capabilities with Rs106 Million Training Complex

Quetta: The Balochistan Police are set to enhance their counterterrorism and operational capabilities through upgraded infrastructure, advanced training, and modern technology, Inspector General of Police Balochistan, Muhammad Tahir, announced on Tuesday. He stressed that every available resource is being mobilized to elevate the professional skills and readiness of the provincial police force.
The announcement came during the inauguration of a newly constructed, state-of-the-art facility for the Balochistan Constabulary at Badar Line, Quetta. Built at a cost of Rs106 million, the complex includes a modern administrative block and newly developed residential barracks. IGP Tahir personally inspected the facility, reviewing its readiness and operational standards.
The inauguration was attended by senior police officials, including Additional IGP Javed Ali Meher, Additional IGP and Commandant Balochistan Constabulary Ashfaq Ahmed, DIG Headquarters Ayaz Ahmed Baloch, Commandant PTC Shahzad Akbar, DIG Quetta Imran Shaukat, Deputy Commandant Shad Ibn Masih, DIG Special Branch Tahir Alauddin Kasi, AIG Development Ahmed Sultan, PSO Aitezaz Ahmed, SSP Admin Dostain Dashti, among others.
IGP Tahir highlighted that police personnel operate on the frontlines against criminal and anti-state activities, and ensuring their welfare remains a top priority. He noted that standards across all units are being elevated, and following the merger of B-Areas into the police system, officers are receiving enhanced physical training, modern weapons handling instruction, and advanced investigative skills to improve operational effectiveness.
He further emphasized that the provincial government is taking strategic steps to strengthen the infrastructure and capabilities of security institutions, which will bolster the overall performance of police and other law enforcement agencies. Modern residential facilities, he said, are a key component of this effort, enhancing morale, confidence, and professional output.
The new barracks, designed to accommodate 150 personnel across five units, feature a canteen, TV hall, waiting area, and other essential amenities. IGP Tahir stated that these upgrades will not only improve the living standards of Balochistan Constabulary personnel but also enhance the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the force.
