Quetta: Advisor to the Chief Minister of Balochistan for Political and Media Affairs, Shahid Rind, has announced the successful completion of rescue operations by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) in areas severely impacted by recent heavy snowfall across the province.
Rind stated that a prompt, coordinated, and professional response enabled dozens of stranded vehicles to be assisted, with passengers safely relocated to secure locations. Despite freezing temperatures and challenging weather conditions, PDMA teams, district administrations, and rescue personnel worked tirelessly, saving hundreds of lives.
He highlighted that the operation demonstrated the provincial government’s proactive preparedness, strategic planning, and strong coordination among departments. Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti praised the performance of PDMA and commended the dedication and professionalism of all personnel involved in the rescue efforts.
Rind added that the Chief Minister reaffirmed the protection of citizens’ lives and property during emergencies as the government’s highest priority. Officers supervising the operation and field teams will be awarded certificates of appreciation for their exceptional commitment and service.
The advisor further noted that the Government of Balochistan is actively enhancing PDMA’s capacity to ensure rapid and efficient response in the event of future natural disasters.
