Lahore, January 24, 2026:
The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has warned citizens to remain vigilant against fake e-challan SMS messages circulating in the name of traffic enforcement. A PSCA spokesperson clarified that all official e-challan notifications are now sent only from the official number 9915. Earlier messages were issued from 8070, but no e-challan alerts are sent from any number other than 9915 anymore.
The spokesperson stressed that PSCA never asks for payments, bank details, or personal financial information via SMS. Citizens have been advised not to click on suspicious links or make payments through unofficial websites, as such actions can lead to financial loss.
Genuine e-challan messages clearly include complete details of the traffic violation, such as time, location, and nature of the offence, making verification easier. The authority also emphasized that all PSCA services are free of cost.
Strict legal action is underway against individuals involved in fraudulent activities using the Safe Cities name. Citizens receiving suspicious messages are advised to contact Helpline 15 immediately. For verification, they can visit echallan.psca.gop.pk or use the Public Safety App to stay protected from scams.
