Islamabad, Feb 2, 2026: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Gilgit-Baltistan has achieved a major political breakthrough as all internal differences within the party have been formally resolved ahead of the upcoming elections. The decision was taken during a key meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON, Engineer Amir Muqam.
The meeting brought together the group led by PML-N Gilgit-Baltistan President Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman and the faction represented by General Secretary Akbar Taban and Muhammad Anwar. Both sides agreed to end all disagreements in the larger interest of the party and pledged to work collectively under the leadership of PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif.
Addressing the gathering, Engineer Amir Muqam said the unified stance sends a clear message to political opponents that PML-N is fully united. He assured party leaders that election tickets would be awarded strictly on merit and emphasized that all divisions now stand resolved.
Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman stated that the party leadership and workers are on the same page, while Akbar Taban reaffirmed unity and mutual trust. A large number of party leaders and workers attended the meeting. End
