Lahore — The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) is leveraging advanced drone technology to ensure swift and effective responses to emergency calls received on Helpline 15. All drone operations are monitored live through a state-of-the-art digital wall at the Safe City Headquarters, enabling real-time coordination with rescue services and relevant departments.
A PSCA spokesperson reported that when an emergency call regarding a factory fire in Manawan was received, the drone team immediately reached the site. Live monitoring during the rescue operation helped locate potential individuals inside the factory and facilitated their safe evacuation.
The spokesperson added that the drone team also responded promptly to a house fire caused by a short circuit in Johar Town, providing guidance to relevant departments for efficient rescue operations. During routine drone surveillance, incidents such as kite flying near Orange Line Dera Gujran Station and smoke emissions from a factory in Karol Ghaati, Gujjarpura, were promptly detected, and appropriate actions were taken.
The PSCA emphasized that drone-assisted rapid response is being maintained province-wide for all emergency calls on Helpline 15. The authority continues to advance technology-driven monitoring systems to ensure a safer, peaceful, and progressive Punjab.
