The Balochistan High Court on Thursday sought a detailed progress report on the Science College to Sariab Railway Crossing road project.
Chief Justice Muhammad Kamran Khan Mullahkhel and Justice Muhammad Najam-ud-Din Mengal directed authorities to ensure completion within the stipulated timeframe.
The Additional Chief Secretary (Development) informed the court that asphalt work from Akram Hospital to Hockey Chowk is progressing swiftly and is likely to be completed before Eid-ul-Fitr. Service roads and the wearing course are expected to be finalized between April 15 and April 30, 2026.
The Project Director stated that the storm-water drainage component is 98 percent complete, with only 230 meters remaining.
The court expressed displeasure over delays in gas line relocation. Officials of Sui Southern Gas Company assured early completion. The court also ordered an immediate site visit by the Project Director.
The N-25 Karachi–Chaman dualization project was also discussed, while Ghahi Khan Chowk and Sariab Customs overhead bridges were declared separate schemes.
The case was adjourned until March 5, 2026, with directions to submit a progress report supported by photographic evidence.
