KP Food Authority Destroys Substandard Food in Lower Dir

Lower Dir: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority carried out operations against substandard and hazardous food items in Lower Dir, disposing of a large quantity of seized products.
Hundreds of liters of counterfeit beverages, 600 packets of expired spices, 80 packets of biscuits, more than 200 packets of candies, and 120 packets of fake kheer mix were destroyed. Additionally, 137 kilograms of China salt, 50 kilograms of spoiled bakery items, and 65 kilograms of newspapers used for food packing were discarded.
The team also destroyed 500 bundles of mislabeled chips, 14 packets of ketchup, 3 kilograms of non-food grade color, 5 cans of oil and ghee, as well as large quantities of spoiled pickles and tea leaves.
Kashif Iqbal Jilani emphasized that no leniency would be shown to individuals involved in unsafe food businesses and reiterated the authority’s commitment to providing safe and quality food for the public.
