LORALAI: March 24, 2026: A coordinated operation by Loralai Police Station and the Department of Forests led to the arrest of five individuals involved in illegal hunting, with authorities confiscating five protected migratory birds, locally known as Koj (cranes).
The operation was conducted in line with the provincial government’s strict ban on hunting, which remains in effect across the region. Police confirmed that the suspects were apprehended while attempting to hunt Koj, a migratory species, in direct violation of government-imposed restrictions. A formal case has been filed against the accused under applicable legal provisions, and proceedings are underway.
Officials stated that this action is part of continuous efforts to curb illegal hunting and protect local wildlife. The Divisional Forest Officer noted that, following directives from Secretary of Forests and Wildlife Imran Gachgi, the hunting ban remains fully enforced throughout the province. He warned that violators, regardless of their status, would face stringent legal action.
The successful operation highlights the authorities’ commitment to wildlife protection and environmental conservation, underscoring ongoing measures to safeguard the province’s natural heritage.
