Quetta: Terrorist attempts at two separate locations in Quetta were foiled through swift action by security forces, according to Balochistan Home Department spokesperson Babar Yousafzai.
Officials said the presence of militants was reported, prompting immediate response from law enforcement agencies, including the Frontier Corps and police. Security forces engaged the attackers, forcing them to flee the scene.
During their escape, the militants reportedly opened fire on civilians, resulting in injuries to five people. The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta, where they are receiving medical treatment.
Authorities stated that the attackers are linked to a proscribed network referred to as “Fitna al-Hindustan.” They added that the security situation across Balochistan remains fully under control, with all security agencies on high alert.
The provincial government urged the public and media to avoid spreading unverified information and reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety of citizens and maintaining law and order across the province.
