Bangladeshi University Leaders Visit LUMS to Expand Pakistan-Bangladesh Academic Collaboration

Lahore, May 19: A high-level delegation of university leaders from Bangladesh visited the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) to explore new avenues for strengthening academic cooperation, research partnerships, and institutional linkages between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Led by Prof. Dr. Mamun Ahmed, Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Bangladesh, the delegation included vice chancellors from leading public and private universities alongside senior education officials. The visit was facilitated by Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission (HEC) as part of efforts to deepen regional academic engagement.

During meetings with LUMS Vice Chancellor Dr. Ali Cheema, Provost Dr. Tariq Jadoon, deans, and faculty members, discussions focused on expanding collaboration in research, student and faculty exchanges, executive and legal education, and joint academic initiatives.
Participants highlighted the importance of strengthening educational ties through shared regional understanding while learning from distinct national experiences. Prof. Dr. Mamun Ahmed appreciated the hospitality of LUMS leadership, stressing that stronger academic cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh can enhance institutional capacity, academic excellence, and opportunities for students in both countries.
