Three-Day Urs of Hazrat Jahaniyan Begins in Uch Sharif

Ahmedpur Sharqia/Uch Sharif, May 31, 2026: The three-day annual Urs of renowned Sufi saint Hazrat Syed Jalal-ud-Din Hussain Jahaniyan Jahangasht Bukhari (RA) commenced in Uch Sharif with traditional religious rituals and ceremonies.

The opening of the Urs was marked by the ceremonial bathing of the shrine with sandalwood and rose water, followed by the formal chadar poshi performed by the custodian of the shrine, Sajjada Nasheen Fakhr-e-Sadat Bukhariyah Makhdoom Syed Zamarad Hussain Bukhari, along with Crown Prince Makhdoomzada Syed Ghulam Hassan Zamarad Bukhari.

On the occasion, Makhdoom Syed Zamarad Hussain Bukhari offered special prayers for unity among the Muslim Ummah, peace, tolerance, prosperity, stability of Pakistan, and the well-being of the armed forces. A spiritual Mehfil-e-Naat was also held, drawing large participation from devotees.

The ceremony was attended by Crown Prince Makhdoomzada Syed Umar Iftikhar Hassan Gillani, Professor Dr. Muhammad Altaf Dahr Jalalvi, Makhdoom Syed Arshad Tirmizi, Sahibzada Syed Hussain Haider Bukhari, Sahibzada Syed Riaz Jahaniyan Bukhari, Khadim Shamim Abbas Shijra Nawis, Sahibzada Syed Najeeb Ali Bukhari, and caretaker Muhammad Sabir, along with a large number of devotees and pilgrims from across Pakistan and abroad.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Muhammad Altaf Dahr Jalalvi said that the shrines of saints are centers of spiritual guidance and enlightenment. He added that true success in this world and the hereafter lies in practicing the philosophy of Sufism, and that respect for humanity remains the essence of life.
