Preparations Underway for 50th International Seerat-un-Nabi Conference to be Held with Dignity and Grandeur: Minister Sardar Muhammad Yousaf
ISLAMABAD – August 7, 2025:
Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, has announced that the 50th International Seerat-un-Nabi Conference will be held during the holy month of Rabi-ul-Awwal in a dignified and befitting manner.
He made these remarks while presiding over a high-level review meeting convened to assess preparations for the landmark event. “It is an honour for the Ministry of Religious Affairs to host the 50th International Seerat-un-Nabi Conference this year,” the minister said, emphasizing the event’s critical role in educating the youth about Islamic teachings and the noble life of Prophet Muhammad
Sardar Yousaf noted that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has designated the current Hijri year as the 1500th year of the Blessed Birth of the Prophet Muhammad , to be commemorated under the title “Nabi ur-Rahmah” (The Prophet of Mercy). In line with this declaration, the Ministry has launched a countrywide initiative to organize Seerat and Naat gatherings under the theme “Ashra Rahmat-lil-Alameen”, at both provincial and private levels.
This year’s conference theme will focus on:
“State Responsibilities in Educating and Training for the Positive Use of Social Media– In Light of the Teaching of the Holy Prophet .”
The minister also highlighted that a call for research papers on the conference theme was issued several months ago. Authors of outstanding papers and writers of books on Seerat and Naat will be honored with special awards, while the best-selected papers will be compiled into a book for distribution among policymakers and the younger generation to ensure their lasting impact.
He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to encouraging Seerat scholarship and writers, stating that such efforts will continue in a structured and dignified manner.
The 50th International Seerat Conference is expected to attract participation from distinguished national and international religious scholars and dignitaries, further enhancing its significance.
The review meeting, held at the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Islamabad, was also attended by Federal Secretary for Religious Affairs Dr. Syed Ata ur Rehman, Additional Secretary Dr. Sajid Mahmood Chauhan, and other senior officials.
