CTO Islamabad Suspends Traffic Officers After Heated Exchange with Motorcyclist

ISLAMABAD, Oct 11 (INP):
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Captain (R) Hamza Humayun has suspended several traffic officers following a verbal altercation with a motorcyclist on the Islamabad Expressway, the police spokesperson said on Friday.

According to the Islamabad Police spokesperson, the incident occurred when a motorcyclist, holding his helmet in his lap, introduced himself as a member of a government agency and misbehaved with on-duty traffic officials. The individual reportedly broke the security cordon and attempted to flee toward the Expressway.

After being intercepted through the police wireless network, an exchange of harsh words took place between the rider and the traffic officers. Taking prompt notice of the incident, the CTO ordered the immediate suspension of the concerned officials pending a full inquiry.

CTO Captain (R) Hamza Humayun asserted, directing all traffic officers to treat citizens with respect and maintain professional conduct at all times.

 

He added that departmental discipline and courteous behavior form the foundation of the Islamabad Traffic Police, and any deviation from these standards will invite strict action.
