Panjgur farmers have raised serious allegations against the Agriculture Water Management Department for misappropriating funds intended for local farmers’ welfare. According to Riaz Ahmed Baloch, Vice President of the Farmers in Action Committee, funds allocated for pond, canal, and land leveling projects, as well as tractor hours for 2022/23, were diverted and never reached the farmers. Crops and irrigation structures remain neglected, and farmers have been left without essential agricultural support. Baloch appealed to the Deputy Commissioner Panjgur to investigate all fund allocations and ensure justice for the farming community. He further criticized the department’s absentee officers, stating that farmers visiting district offices are often met with empty offices and no accountability. The farmers have warned of organized protests if their demands are not met, emphasizing the urgent need for transparency and effective fund utilization to safeguard agricultural development in the region.
