LAHORE, Jan 4, 2026: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif paid tribute to Louis Braille, the inventor of the Braille script, calling it a “powerful source of knowledge and hope” for visually impaired individuals.
In her message on World Braille Day, the Chief Minister highlighted the transformative role of Braille in enabling millions of visually impaired people to access education. She commended educators and advocates working to empower this community and announced that Punjab is establishing Centres of Excellence for persons with special needs across the province.
Braille reading systems have been provided at these centres to facilitate learning. CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed pride in seeing students utilize the Braille system and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to inclusive education and equal opportunities for all.
