Quetta: Acting Governor of Balochistan, Ghazala Gola, has called for expanded opportunities and equitable access to resources for women, stressing that empowering half of the province’s population is vital for overall development. She highlighted that, despite their talent and potential matching that of women in other provinces, the women of Balochistan have been constrained by widespread poverty and limited access to basic facilities.
Addressing a meeting with Secretary Women Development, Saira Atta, at Governor House Quetta, Ghazala Gola pointed out that the lack of opportunities has historically restricted women from reaching their full potential. She praised the provincial government’s proactive efforts to broaden educational and employment avenues for women throughout the province.
The Acting Governor emphasized that financial independence enables women not only to protect their own rights but also to champion the empowerment and welfare of others. She described women’s economic autonomy as a fundamental component of sustainable social and economic growth in Balochistan.
During the meeting, Secretary Saira Atta congratulated Ghazala Gola on her appointment as Acting Governor and briefed her on ongoing and upcoming initiatives aimed at promoting women’s development across the province.
