Independent Report
Islamabad, January 24, 2026:
Pakistan’s exports of boiled meat to China jumped an impressive 177% in 2025, reflecting strong growth in bilateral agri-food trade and rising Chinese demand for halal-certified protein products. According to China’s General Administration of Customs (GACC), Pakistan shipped 2.38 million kilograms of boiled beef under HS code 16025090, valued at $14.52 million.
Top Chinese destinations included Jiangsu Province with imports of 1.0 million kilograms worth $5.08 million, Zhejiang at 458,595 kilograms ($3.66 million), and Tianjin at 510,520 kilograms ($3.50 million). Other provinces, including Guangdong, Xinjiang, Shandong, Hainan, and Hunan, also saw growing shipments.
Experts attribute the surge to improved market access, enhanced compliance with Chinese sanitary and halal standards, expanded export-approved slaughterhouses, and strengthened cold-chain logistics. On average, Pakistani meat exports were priced at $6.1 per kilogram, offering value-added products that appeal to food processors, caterers, and retailers.
While Mongolia remains China’s largest supplier of prepared bovine meat, Pakistan’s competitive pricing, quality, and expanding processing infrastructure position it for further growth. Industry analysts highlight opportunities in portioned and seasoned products, cold-chain investments, and branding partnerships with Chinese distributors.
Pakistani exporters see the 2025 results as a structural shift toward stable, large-scale meat exports, signaling deepening economic ties between the two countries and reinforcing Pakistan’s growing presence in China’s lucrative agri-food market.
