Quetta, February 13, 2026: In a sweeping province-wide operation, Balochistan Police, acting under the directives of IG Police Muhammad Tahir, have apprehended 173 individuals involved in serious crimes, including robbery, drug trafficking, and other offenses, while rescuing nine kidnapped persons.
The operations led to the recovery of 12 stolen vehicles, 42 motorcycles, 17 mobile phones, 153 pistols and revolvers, 20 Kalashnikov rifles, 1,397 cartridges, 119 magazines, 33 kilograms and 30 grams of explosives, one suicide jacket, and 59 hand grenades.
Targeted actions against drug trafficking resulted in the arrest of 230 suspects and the seizure of narcotics, including 2,845.24 grams of hashish, 2,443.756 grams of ice/crystal meth, 114 grams of heroin, 15.740 kilograms of opium, 60 grams of morphine, 1.245 grams of crystal, 1,132 bottles of liquor, and 564 beer cans.
In total, police apprehended 472 wanted fugitives and absconders, along with 673 additional suspects involved in various criminal activities. Authorities also recovered PKR 632,500 in cash, 35 tolas of gold, and removed illegal black window tints from 2,782 vehicles.
The crackdown is ongoing in Quetta and seven other provincial ranges, aiming to create a safe, peaceful, and crime-free environment while preventing criminals from evading justice across districts. Criminal records of all detainees are being thoroughly reviewed and coordinated with authorities in other provinces to investigate any pending cases.
Balochistan Police reaffirmed their commitment to protecting citizens and continuing robust actions against criminal networks throughout the province.
