Islamabad, February 13, 2026: Kiran Baloch, Chairperson of the Balochistan Commission on the Status of Women and senior Pakistan Peoples Party leader, highlighted the urgent need for robust legislation and effective enforcement to address the challenges faced by women in Balochistan and across Pakistan.
Speaking at a consultative session organized by the National Commission on the Status of Women in Islamabad, Kiran Baloch emphasized the importance of ensuring women’s active and meaningful participation in policy-making. The meeting brought together officials from government departments, civil society representatives, and experts to discuss strategies for safeguarding women’s rights, promoting gender equality, and advancing sustainable development goals.
Kiran Baloch underscored that genuine empowerment requires providing women with access to education, healthcare, economic independence, and political opportunities. She stressed that women must be placed at the core of decision-making processes to achieve lasting societal impact.
Participants at the meeting pledged to enhance collaboration between state institutions, political leadership, and relevant organizations to implement practical measures aimed at strengthening gender equality and protecting women’s rights throughout Pakistan.
