Police Personnel Attackers Will Face No Leniency, Says AJK IGP Liaqat Ali Malik

MUZAFFARABAD: Inspector General of Police Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Liaqat Ali Malik, has said that those involved in killing or injuring police personnel, attacking law enforcement agencies, and disturbing public peace will be dealt with strictly under the law, with no leniency.

Speaking to the media, the IGP said several police officers have embraced martyrdom while many others have been injured during efforts to maintain law and order. He stated that the responsibility of the police is to enforce the law and ensure public safety, while political matters should be addressed through the appropriate political process.

Liaqat Ali Malik said legal action would continue against individuals involved in violence, attacks on police personnel, and attempts to challenge the writ of the state. He further alleged that certain violent elements had also been involved in incidents of intimidation and assault against civilians.

The IGP reaffirmed that the police would continue to fulfill their responsibility of protecting the lives and property of citizens and maintaining public order, adding that anyone found violating the law would face action in accordance with the law.
