SWAT: The Chairman of the District Zakat Committee, Malik Asif Shahzad, has taken a significant step to support the underprivileged by donating Rs 4 million to DHQ Hospital in Swat. This donation will be used to provide free medicines to poor and deserving patients, both those admitted to the hospital and those visiting the OPD, after the necessary legal procedures are followed.
During the handover ceremony, which took place at the office of the District Zakat Chairman, Asif Shahzad presented the check to the DMS of DHQ Hospital, Saidu Sharif, and Samiullah Khan. The process for obtaining free medicine will be facilitated through the local Zakat Committee and the District Zakat Office, ensuring that eligible individuals receive their medicines as prescribed by doctors.
Asif Shahzad and District Zakat Officer Sikandar Hayat emphasized that this initiative is aimed at benefiting the poor and ensuring they have access to the medical relief provided by the provincial government. Shahzad also mentioned that he would personally oversee the implementation of this program to ensure that no deserving patient is deprived of the assistance intended to help them.
