Outlay of province’s budget to be around Rs. 1 trillion: Balochistan’s next financial year budget likely to be presented on June 20
QUETTA: The next financial year’s budget of Balochistan province for 2025-26 is likely to be presented on June 20, 2025.
According to the sources of Provincial Finance Department, the total outlay of Balochistan’s budget is estimated at over Rs. 1 trillion. The sources said that the province’s budget for next financial year would be surplus with around Rs. 800 billion to be allocated for non-development expenditures.
The development expenditures in budget is likely to be around Rs. 250 billion. Around Rs. 170 billion would be allocated for Education sector while Rs. 100 billion each would be allocated for health and law and order sectors, the sources informed.
The sources said that the salaries and pensions of the government employees and pensioners would be increased on pattern of the federal budget.
The sources also informed that the next financial year budget of the province would be public friendly and state of art, for preparations are being made.
They also informed that services of 12 financial experts have been hired for preparation of the budget on contract basis.
It may also be mentioned here that the Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has already announced that the next budget of the province would meet the public requirements.
A parliamentary committee comprising members of the coalition parties has also been formed to formulate the budget of the new fiscal year, align the PSDP with public needs and discuss the budget with the federal government.
The committee would be headed by the Chief Minister himself, who would meet the Prime Minister of Pakistan and hold fruitful discussions on budget formulation and issues related to the federal government.
The parliamentary committee included Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani, Bakht Muhammad Kakar, Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, Mir Saleem Ahmed Khosa, Mir Shoaib Noshirwani, Noor Muhammad Dummar, Nawabzada Tariq Khan Magsi, Engineer Zamrak Khan Achakzai and Engineer Abdul Majeed Badeni.
The committee was formed during a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister last week. During the meeting, CM highlighted the important points of the budget and development priorities.
He said that the budget of the next financial year would be different from the traditions of the past and it could be completely prepared according to the public needs and development priorities of the province.
He said that transparency, merit and good governance would be ensured in the budget and PSDP so that maximum public welfare projects could be completed despite limited resources.
