Over 96 percent target of anti-polio campaign achieved in Balochistan
QUETTA: Over 96 percent target of the anti-polio campaign has been achieved during six days in Balochistan.
According to the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) for Polio Eradication, the anti-polio campaign remains continued in all 36 districts of the province on Sunday.
The EOC sources said that in first six days of the seven-days campaign, 96 percent target of the immunization of children was achieved.
It may be mentioned here that over 26.6 million children are to be vaccinated in the campaign.
Over 11,000 teams were formed to vaccinate the children against crippling disease, the EOC sources maintained.
Strict security measures were adopted to ensure vaccination of the children with safety. Except the unfortunate incident of firing in Mastung, no untoward incident was reported during the immunization campaign.
Two Levies cops deployed on security of the anti-polio teams were killed by unknown armed assailants in Mastung last week.
