Governor of Balochistan, Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, has issued new directives regarding the Green Bus Service, operated under a public-private partnership, to exempt all disabled passengers from fares and provide special concessions for senior citizens and students.
In addition, the governor instructed the immediate deployment of two new buses on the Quetta–Education City route to make public transport more equitable and accessible for all residents.
Speaking at Governor House Quetta with Provincial Secretary Transport, Hayat Khan Kakr, and PPP CEO, Dr. Faisal Kakr, the governor said, “I take joy in the happiness of the common people. Projects designed for public welfare are always praiseworthy and successful. The Green Bus Service has already improved transport facilities for residents of Quetta and its surroundings.”
He also noted that 21 green and pink buses have arrived from Karachi and will soon be operational on Quetta and Turbat roads. Furthermore, four pink buses will be dedicated for women, marking a citizen-friendly initiative aimed at improving accessibility and convenience.
