Quetta: Chief Secretary Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan, showcased the province’s ongoing digital transformation in the health sector, announcing the Health Leadership Conference 2026 to assess progress on key health indicators and ongoing digitization efforts. The conference aims to strengthen monitoring, increase transparency, and improve the overall efficiency of healthcare delivery across Balochistan, building on reforms introduced over the past two years.
Addressing attendees, the Chief Secretary emphasized that these initiatives are designed to enhance oversight, accountability, and citizen-focused service delivery. He noted that digitization, decentralization, and streamlined operational mechanisms are central to upgrading healthcare facilities throughout the province.
Shakeel Qadir Khan also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to public welfare and health sector development, highlighting that Balochistan’s innovative initiatives have drawn attention from countries such as Bangladesh and Nepal, positioning the province as a model for health reforms.
Real-time monitoring systems now track hospital operations, including staff attendance, medicine availability, and emergency response effectiveness. The Health Secretary noted that HISP Pakistan and UNICEF have recognized Balochistan as a national and international example of effective digital health implementation, underlining the province’s leadership in modernizing healthcare services.
