Swift Rescue Saves 180 in Lahore Fire

Lahore, January 24:

A potential tragedy was averted after Rescue 1122 teams safely evacuated 180 people trapped in a fire incident at Indigo Tower in Gulberg, following a swift emergency response.

Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz expressed appreciation for the rescue teams, stating that their rapid action prevented major loss of life. Upon receiving the alert, the chief minister immediately mobilized provincial and district authorities.

On her instructions, Provincial Minister Faisal Khokhar, the Chief Secretary, DG LDA and Deputy Commissioner Lahore reached the site to supervise operations. Rescue teams were directed to continue efforts until every individual was safely evacuated.

Authorities confirmed that the fire was controlled within minutes, aided by Lahore’s modern fire hydrant system. Maryam Nawaz said saving 180 lives was not coincidental but a result
