Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Wednesday termed the Kashmiri people’s struggle for freedom as legitimate, principled, and in line with international laws, stating that the right to freedom cannot be suppressed through force, oppression, or coercion.
Addressing a central rally on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day at Governor House, he said that Pakistan must further intensify and strengthen its diplomatic efforts to effectively highlight the Kashmir issue at global forums. He emphasized that granting the Kashmiri people their right to self-determination in accordance with United Nations resolutions has become inevitable.
The governor said that India’s unilateral and illegal actions of August 5, 2019, further aggravated and complicated the Kashmir dispute. He urged the international community to take immediate notice of grave human rights violations, Indian aggression, and state oppression in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Faisal Karim Kundi reaffirmed that Pakistan will continue providing political, diplomatic, and moral support to its Kashmiri brethren at every international forum. He expressed confidence that the people of occupied Kashmir would soon attain freedom from illegal Indian occupation, adding that the brave people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stand firmly with Kashmiris in their just struggle.
