ISLAMABAD, February 12: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi has emphasized the need for stronger parliamentary action, effective legislation and enhanced institutional capacity to eliminate terrorism and extremism in Pakistan.
Addressing a dialogue workshop on countering extremism and terrorism organized by SSDO, the Governor termed the initiative a constructive step toward developing a coordinated national response to evolving security challenges. He said terrorism continues to pose a serious threat to Pakistan’s peace, social harmony and economic progress.
Kundi highlighted that Parliament holds a central role in formulating frameworks against terrorism and terror financing. He stressed the importance of dismantling extremist networks, blocking terrorists’ digital platforms and cutting off financial resources.
The Governor noted that while Pakistan has achieved significant successes through security operations and institutional reforms, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is once again facing renewed threats. He paid tribute to the professionalism, courage and sacrifices of law enforcement agencies, calling dialogue platforms vital for informed policymaking and national unity.
